Josha Sietsma wrote Think. Define. Choose. How 21 Stories Shaped Life in Nebraska after a moment of serendipity with a building that changed the course of his life.

In the 1980s, as a young boy growing up in Brazil and Canada, he came across a National Geographic article about Nebraska—and decided he wanted to live there. Drawn to the Sandhills, rodeos, and country music, he dreamed of becoming a rancher.

Years later, while visiting Nebraska, he was unexpectedly moved by the quiet grandeur of the Capitol building. Its bold design, democratic symbolism, and deep connection to the land resonated with him—and became the foundation for a book about how architecture and storytelling shape identity.

Josha Sietsma holds a degree in Philosophy, Education, and completed post-academical courses on the Philosophy of Public Law. He has published poetry chapbooks, educational readers on art and philosophy and his most recent publication is a book for children young and old.
